The type of materials the safe is made from may sway your decision about which model you want. If you’re housing coins or jewelry in your safe, you may want one with a carpeted floor for scratch protection. Many safe boxes will be made out of alloy steel, but if you want fire protection for your valuables, you’ll also want the safe to incorporate fire insulation material as well.

Special Features:

Extra features can vary between different models of safe boxes. Special features you’ll sometimes see may include pry resistance, fire-proof protection, corrosion resistance, and a steel security cable.
